Big Bend Services, Inc. installs new garage doors on houses and detached garages in the counties we serve, both in place of a worn-out door and in openings that have never had a door. We measure the opening and quote a new door sized to fit it, with a new opener on the same quote if you want one.

Repair or replace
When a new door beats another repair
A door with one broken spring, a frayed cable or worn rollers is a repair, and the repair page covers those. A new door makes sense when the problem is the door itself.
Several damaged sections
Dents, splits or rust through more than one section of the door.
Sections no longer made
One damaged section can be swapped only while a matching section is still made. When it is not, the whole door is replaced.
Repairs that keep coming back
Different parts failing one after another on an older door.
A swollen or rotted wood door
A wood door that has swelled, split or rotted along the bottom no longer seals at the floor or runs straight in the track.
Measuring
What has to fit besides the door
The track, the springs and any opener all take up room around the opening.
Width and height
The finished opening sets the size of the door, so it closes against the jambs and the floor without gaps.
Headroom
The space between the top of the opening and the ceiling holds the springs and the curve of the track. A low ceiling or a beam calls for low-headroom track, which turns back closer to the top of the opening.
Side room
Each side of the opening needs space for the upright track and its brackets.
Depth into the garage
The garage has to be deep enough to hold the door when it is open, plus the opener rail if one is going in.
A tall ceiling
Where the ceiling is high, the track can run up the wall before it turns, so the open door sits higher and leaves more room below it.
The floor
A floor that slopes or dips across the opening leaves a gap under a level door, so the bottom seal is chosen to close it.

Springs
New springs are sized to the weight and height of the new door and tensioned so it balances, since the old springs were set for the old door.
Track, cables, rollers and hinges
The track and its brackets, the lift cables, the rollers and the hinges all come new with the door.
Bottom seal
The door comes with its own rubber seal along the bottom edge.

Where a garage has two doors and only one is failing, the other can stay as it is.
Openers
Keeping the old opener or adding a new one
Keeping the opener
An opener that runs well can stay on the new door if it has the lifting power for it. A heavier or taller door can need a stronger unit. Tell us roughly how old the opener is and whether it runs smoothly now.
A new opener
A new opener comes with its own safety sensors and wall control, mounted and lined up with the new door.
A first opener, or a building with no power
A door on a garage, workshop or barn that has always been lifted by hand can get an opener when there is power near the opening. Without power, the door is set up to be lifted by hand, and an opener can be added later.
