The Florida energy code sets the limit at 7 air changes per hour at 50 pascals for this climate zone. A house over the limit has its leaks corrected and is tested again.
Booking ahead of the date you need the result leaves time for a retest. If the ready date slips, call the office and a new test date is set.
Paint and floors can wait
Paint, flooring, trim, cabinets and countertops do not change the reading.

On the day
A fan fitted in an exterior doorway holds the house at the test pressure while the leakage is measured. Windows and outside doors are shut, dampers closed and the heating and cooling turned off.
Attic and garage
A vented attic and an unconditioned attached garage sit outside the tested space. An attic sealed at the roof deck is measured with the house.

On a new house, seamless gutters are formed on site to fit each roof edge. On a house being rebuilt, the old or sectional gutters are taken down and hauled away, and new seamless runs replace them.

A cable, a roller, a hinge, a sensor or a single panel is repaired or replaced on its own, and a broken spring is replaced.
